Fani house is structured in one floor. Two main volumes accommodate living and sleeping spaces, connected by a third bridge-volume: it’s where the main entrance door is located. The openings serve as vital elements in shaping the life within the residence. seamlessly merging the interior with the exterior and allowing natural light to filter through. That creates a variety of images and sensations.
The open plan kitchen and living room are visually separated by the large arched beam that frames the elongated marble dining table. Here is where family bonding starts. A long hallway leads to the family bedrooms. Notable features are the stone wall at the headboard of the master bedroom along with the built-in beds in the kids’ rooms.
The house harmoniously blends elements of local and contemporary architecture. A careful selection of natural materials aimed to evoke a pleasant sense of warmth and coziness. Natural paint (kourasani) of earthy tones to all wall and ceiling surfaces, stone floors and walls, use of natural wood on many surfaces, and stone masonry reflect the desire to connect with the countryside.
